We all love the game of golf, and as adults we need to do our part to try and grow the game of golf with as many people as possible. If we want more courses, more hype on television, more fun and quality time spent with our family, then we have to continue to reach out to everyone, and get them into the game. This week Rich O'Brien golf coach from PGA Hope Charleston, shares his journey through the game, and how he continues to grow the game, day in and day out.
Look at Rich now, after making a near complete recovery from his injuries and once again achieving a scratch handicap, no one would ever guess that he endured 12,000 hours of rehabilitation on his long road to recovery. That journey began on September 25th, 2008 when he was ejected from a golf cart and suffered catastrophic injuries including four spinal fractures (C1 & 2, L4 & 5), four skull fractures, brain damage in every lobe of his brain that was the equivalent of multiple strokes and aneurysms (subdural, subarachnoid, epidural hematomas).
Rich as overcome adversity in so many ways and now helps people use golf as therapy to help with their recovery while continuing to grow the game.
